LibriVox recording of Just William (version 2) by Richmal Crompton.
Read in English by Kara Shallenberg
Just William is the first book of hilarious short stories about 11-year-old William Brown -- eternally scruffy and frowning. William's family, his elder sister Ethel and brother Robert, placid mother and stern father, and never-ending supply of elderly aunts, cannot understand him. William just likes DOING things, that's all! It's not his fault he likes DOING things, is it? (Summary by Kara and Wikipedia)

William is a most imaginative, fun, thoughtless boy, getting into more kinds of trouble than his poor family could ever prepare for or prevent.
Not having brothers or sons, I admit I find it hard to picture this as an 11-year-old. Perhaps a century ago, 11 year old boys put feathers in their hair and pretended they were Indians? I kept picturing William as about 8 years old. :)
Reader is excellent. Sound quality is excellent.
